How I Work

Integrative Counselling

I am a qualified integrative counsellor, meaning I am able to draw from different therapeutic approaches to suit your individual needs and goals. Our work together is guided by you, whether you prefer simply being listened to or a more structured approach with gentle goal-setting and practical tools.

My practice is grounded in Person-Centred Therapy, which values you as the expert of your own experience. This approach creates a safe, accepting, and non-judgmental space where you can feel truly seen and heard. Feeling safe in this way can help your nervous system move out of “high alert,” reducing anxiety, tension, and overwhelm. When you are supported and understood, your body and mind can begin to relax, making it easier to process difficult emotions, regulate stress responses, and build resilience over time. This gentle and compassionate approach helps you feel more grounded, connected, and more in control of your emotional well-being.
I also integrate elements of Transactional Analysis and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy when they may be helpful. This allows me to have a wider range of ‘tools’ to support you in the way that feels right for you. This is done gently, always tailoring the process to your individual needs and journey.

Transactional Analysis (TA)

TA helps you understand how early life patterns may still influence your thoughts, feelings, and relationships today. By exploring these patterns, you can gain self-understanding, improve relationships, and find healthier ways to connect with others.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

CBT focuses on the link between thoughts, emotions, and behaviours. It can help you recognise unhelpful patterns and learn practical tools to cope with challenges, think more positively, and feel more in control of your life. This approach may include practical exercises and techniques that you can use day-to-day to support your ongoing progress.

Each session is shaped around you, integrating these approaches in a way that feels safe, supportive, and right for your journey.
